The Tween Years
All stages of childhood are beautiful, though in different ways. We photograph babies knowing they change so quickly every few months. We photograph graduates because it marks the beginning of adulthood. But those middle years, those years we call the “tween” years because they are “in between” childhood and the teenage years, are often forgotten. Braces, awkward bodies, crazy hair styles - these are the things we think we’d rather not remember because while they aren't little children anymore, they aren't quite adults yet. As a parent of tweens, I’m realizing...
these years fly by and are worthy of preserving
in photographs as well.
They are worthy of remembering not because tweensare the most elegant, graceful, well polished people, but because there is beauty in that transformation. There is beauty in the “in between.”
